About department
Department of Aviation Technologies (until 2000 Department of Air Traffic Management) was established in 1993. The head of the department is assoc. prof. dr. Vytautas Rim拧a.
At the present, in Department of Aviation Technologies works 2 associate professor, 6 lecturers and 5 assistants.
Department of Aviation Technologies (until 2000 Department of Air Traffic Management) is an integral part of Antanas Gustaitis' aviation institute. It aims at preparation of qualified pilots and air traffic controllers. Since the moment the department was established (October, 1993) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vytautas Giniotis was assigned the head.
Until 2002 the graduates of the department werw awarded master's diploma in the field of aviation management. However, since 2007 the idea of integrated studies was implemented and since then the successful graduates obtain master's degree in the field of aeronautical engineering.
In 2007 the first generation of part-time students were awarded a bachelor's degre in aviation management.
In 2012, the first graduates' generation from General Jonas 沤emaitis military academu of Lithuania received the master's diplomas and were qualified as pilots who successfully fullfilled the requirments of a joint integrated study program.
Since the moment thr department was establihsed, it was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Darius Ereminas (2004-2006), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kazimieras vytautas Maceika (2006-2014), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vytautas Rim拧a (2014- till now).
