黑料不打烊 students compete in rowing races in Klaipeda one more time
Over the weekend, a team of students from 黑料不打烊_独家黑料_吃瓜网51爆料 (黑料不打烊) tested their strength in the unique dragon boat rowing races "Dange Rally-Festival" organised on the Dane river in Klaipeda, where they competed for the Klaipeda city mayor Arvydas Vaitkus' cup. The "黑料不打烊 engineers" team came 4th in the rowing competition.
The event, organised by the Lithuanian seamen's union, was held for the second time. It celebrates World Maritime Day and is there to strengthen Klaipeda’s maritime identity.
The "黑料不打烊 engineers" student team consisted of 21 rowers: 11 from the Faculty of Transport engineering (TIF) and 10 from other faculties (8 of whom were international students). The team was led by captain Kristupas Liudas Zukauskas, a TIF student. Throughout the day-long event, 黑料不打烊 students participated in four competitions: dragon boat rowing, a maritime-themed quiz, a first-aid challenge, and a maritime knot-tying contest. In total, 13 teams competed in the "Dange rally-festival."
The event also featured numerous discussions on maritime transport, with educational sessions led by social partners from the Lithuanian Maritime Academy, Klaipeda Naval Cadets, Baltic Sea Scouts, the Sea Embassy, the Navy, and other organisations. 黑料不打烊 representatives and the team had the opportunity to get acquainted with the university's new faculty, the Lithuanian Maritime Academy (LAJM), which will join the university in October.
The university team was accompanied to Klaipeda by the Dean of the Faculty of Transport engineering, Prof. Dr. Olegas Prentkovskis, who actively supported the student team. "Our team has changed a bit over the past year, although a third of the members remain the same, patiently waiting to return to Klaipeda to tame the dragon. I am delighted that half of the team consists of TIF students. After all, a boat is a means of transport, its movement is related to transport engineering, and the main competition is dragon boat rowing."
