We invite you to Winter Cross-Country and Walking: additional option – Nordic Walking Lesson
On January 23, the FTMC Winter Cross-Country Run for employees of academic institutions will take place. If your New Year's resolution includes being more physically active, this is a great opportunity to get started!
Event partners: Vilnius University Health and Sports Centre and the Sports Division of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Sports and Arts Centre.
We invite all employees of Lithuanian universities, research centres, and colleges. Come meet your colleagues and socialize!
If running isn't for you, we invite you to choose the 3 km walking route! It's perfect for Nordic walking, but you can also do it without poles. And if you don't have poles but would like to try them, we will have several pairs available on-site (please indicate if you will need them when you register). Don't hesitate to ask when you arrive!
We will be running (and walking) on the highly scenic SapieginÄ— Park trail. After the run, all participants will be treated to hot Lithuanian buckwheat porridge with cracklings (and without) and tea.
Important: The event is only for employees of academic institutions, not for students.
ADDITIONAL INVITATION: For those who wish to practice Nordic walking, we are organizing a ~45-minute training session on January 16 at 11:30 AM. We will meet in the square in Vilnius, between SaulÄ—tekio al. 3 and 7 (between FTMC and the VU Life Sciences Center). If you wish to participate, please indicate this on the same registration form linked above; also, please specify if you will need walking poles.
Responsibility is an essential part of the event.
All participants assume full responsibility for any potential incidents during the cross-country run, including collisions with other participants, falls, etc., and for any resulting injuries and/or health issues. When choosing your footwear, we recommend considering the potential weather conditions. It may be slippery (snow, ice, etc.), so a deeper shoe tread or spikes are advisable.
By submitting the registration form, each participant confirms that:
– they are aware of and agree to these terms;
– they are sufficiently trained and in good health, with no medical restrictions prohibiting them from completing their chosen distance in this event;
– they waive any claims against their employer related to injuries that may occur as a result of participating in this event.
We look forward to seeing you!
