Theatre studio "Palepe", which was formed in 1999, welcomes curious, brave and artistic students. Every autumn the theatre invites newcomers to join the collective. In the theatre studio students do more than just perform, they can also become stage light technicians, sound engineers, composers, playwrights, stage and costume designers, and some of the bravest - even directors. "Palepe" theatre rounded up its first season with 17 members and two productions. In more than twenty years of its existence the number of members has gone up to 70 and now about 80 plays are produced and visited by around 4000 people every year. "Palepe" does more than just local performances: it often goes to international theatre festivals, together with VU Theatre organises the International University Theatre Forum, is actively involved in International Association of University Theatres (AITU – IUTA) affairs.
