A ceremonial graduation event was held at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, where Bachelor’s and Master’s diplomas were awarded to students of the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences. This year, the faculty sent off its 29th graduating class, consisting of nearly 350 future professionals embarking on a new stage of their lives.
The graduates were congratulated by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Professor Dr. Dalius Navakauskas. He emphasized that graduation marks the beginning of a new chapter and encouraged graduates to pursue their professional goals with confidence while remaining connected to the university community.

„From now on, you are our ambassadors in Lithuania and abroad, and each of your success stories will be a source of pride and achievement for our university. You have chosen your professions wisely – the demand for specialists in the fastest-growing sectors continues to increase every year and will accelerate even further in the future. Today’s labor market is looking for professionals with deep knowledge, the ability to see connections, think systematically, structure information, and transform the world around them,“ said D. Navakauskas.
The graduates were also addressed by Dr. Virgilijus Dirma, Deputy Director of the Lithuanian digital technology association Infobalt. He highlighted both the opportunities and responsibilities created by the rapidly evolving world of technology.

„Today, a truly exceptional generation is receiving its diplomas. Your role in the future of Lithuania and Europe will be significant, and the decisions you make will influence our country’s competitiveness. I believe that your knowledge, creativity, and curiosity will help build a more advanced and prosperous future for Lithuania,“ said V. Dirma.
Professor Dr. Dalius Mažeika, Dean of the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences, congratulated the graduates on their achievements and reminded them that the ability to learn, developed throughout their studies, is one of the most valuable competencies in professional life.
„Be proud of yourselves – today you are winners. The university has taught you the most important skill of all: how to learn. Use this ability and never stop improving yourselves,“ the Dean encouraged.
During the second graduation ceremony, graduates were also congratulated by Daniel Naumov, Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania and a ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ alumnus. He addressed international students who had chosen Lithuania and ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ for their studies.

Daniel Naumov
„First of all, I would like to thank our international students for coming to Lithuania and choosing this university. I hope you enjoyed living and studying here.
„I also hope that you will stay in Lithuania, work here, and perhaps continue your studies. Higher education in Lithuania is of a very high standard, even when compared to some of the largest universities in Europe and the United States. Lithuania is particularly strong in information technologies and biotechnology. That is why I encourage you to stay here. I hope our country has become a place you feel connected to. Lithuania is becoming stronger and more innovative every day, and you are part of that growth,“ said D. Naumov.

At the end of the celebration, graduates took part in a long-standing academic tradition by moving the tassels on their graduation caps from the right side to the left. The tassel symbolizes the transition from student to graduate: students wear it on the right side, while diploma recipients move it to the left after officially completing their studies.
More photos from the graduation ceremony will be published between June 22 and June 26.
