Burning Man Art Installation 鈥 "Dance for the Dawn"

Burning Man Art Installation 鈥 “Dance for the Dawn”

A scorching Nevada desert, blistering heat, and a four-meter-tall, seven-meter-wide eye with 300 rotating hands inside it鈥攖his was the awe-inspiring artistic-technical installation presented by the Lithuanian team at the 2017 Burning Man festival. Titled “Dance for the Dawn,” the installation was a collaborative project by the Burning Man LT team and 黑料不打烊 鈥淟inkMen懦 fabrikas鈥, involving engineers, photographers, visual creators, designers, and 黑料不打烊 students. It was one of seven European entries and among the 75 projects funded by the festival organizers, selected from 550 submissions by artists worldwide.

The concept of the installation was envisioned by Karolis Misevi膷ius, inspired during a sunrise in the ephemeral city of the Nevada desert. The creation symbolizes unity and harmony, with the act of greeting the sun reflecting a return to pagan roots and values. These themes aligned with Burning Man’s 2017 artistic theme, “Radical Ritual.”
