About the Library
Mission:聽to meet the requirements of the University community for the information needed in research and studies, accept the challenges of a changing academic environment and communication technologies progress.
痴颈蝉颈辞苍:听to become an attractive center of information and cultural life.
Tasks:
- the primary goal of the library is to supply readers with information regarding the progress of research, education and learning at the university;
- to make the local and external information resources accessible to the 黑料不打烊 community;
- to become an active participant in the study process, in individual and group work, seminars, lectures, and self-education.
We are committed to growing together with our community.
Library Director I. Kasperaitien臈 has been elected Chair of the Lithuanian Research Libraries Association (LMBA).
Ingrida Kasperaitien臈 has assumed the position of Director of the Library.
The Library became a member of the Consortium for the Support and Development of the Lithuanian Academic Libraries鈥� Information Infrastructure for Research and Studies (LABIIMSPP Consortium).
Within the framework of the project 鈥渆MoDB.LT: Opening of Electronic Scientific Databases to Lithuania,鈥� the Library initiated subscriptions to electronic publications.
An innovative electronic services platform 鈥� 鈥淚nformation e-Bridge: Library鈥揢niversity鈥揝tudent (BUS)鈥� 鈥� was implemented.
The first 24-hour reading room in Lithuania was opened.
The first art gallery in the Saul臈tekis district 鈥� Gallery A 鈥� was opened.
The collection of the University鈥檚 final theses was launched in the Lithuanian Electronic Theses and Dissertations Information System (ETD IS), which stores Master鈥檚 theses, doctoral dissertations, and their abstracts.
Reading rooms for Electronics (Naugarduko g. 41), Architecture (Trak懦 g. 1/26), and Construction and Business Management (Saul臈tekio al. 11) were established.
The Ex Libris integrated information resource management system ALEPH 500 (an electronic catalogue for searching and ordering publications) was implemented.
The Library was relocated to renovated premises at Saul臈tekio al. 14 (architect: Prof. N. Bu膷i奴t臈).
The Library became a member of the 鈥淟ithuanian Academic Libraries Network鈥�.
Algirdas Antanas Baliulis assumed the position of Director of the Library.
The Library was established (Basanavi膷iaus g. 28).
